BRIGITTE NIEDERMAIR

Born in 1971 (Merano), Brigitte Niedermair lives in Merano but works between Paris, Milan, London and New York. For over twenty years, she has been actively engaged in photography, striking a balance between her independent artistic exploration and her work in fashion photography creation. Since the 1990s, her projects have revolved around the significance of identity, the effect of the representation of the female body and the role of the viewer. In a broader sense, the photographic approach of Niedermair is a constant exploration of time and memory, reflected through the language of art history.

Her work is shown internationally, including solo expositions such as ‘Screenshot’ (with Martino Gamper), ‘One Poultry / Wallpaper,’ London (2017); ‘Transition,’ Palazzo Borromeo, Milan (2017); ‘Eccehomo,’ Castel Tirolo (2018); ‘Me and Fashion,’ Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo Venezia (2019).

Her artworks are part of private collections, museums and public institutions in Italy and abroad.
