Brigitte Niedermair (Merano, 1971) lives in Merano and works between Paris, Milan, London, and New York. She has been taking photographs for over twenty years, combining independent artistic research with fashion photography. Since the 1990s, her projects have focused on the meaning of identity, the effect of the representation of the female body, and the role of the viewer. More generally, Niedermair's photographic approach is a constant exploration of time and memory, reflected in the languages of art history.
Her work has been shown internationally, with solo exhibitions such as Screenshot (with Martino Gamper), One Poultry ⁄ Wallpaper*, London (2017); Transition, Palazzo Borromeo, Milan (2017); Eccehomo, Castel Tirolo (2018); Me and Fashion, Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo Venezia (2019).
His works are part of private collections, museums, and public institutions in Italy and abroad.
